Roughriders Win Season Opener 8-3

C.C. Sabathia pitched 7 and third strong innings and the Frisco bats did the rest as the Roughriders won the season opener 8-3.   Sabathia struck out 12 while walking 4.   He managed to scatter 6 hits, before leaving with one out in the 8th.  Elvis Andrus  stole 4 bases and Jennings added another showing the Frisco aggressive style of baseball.    Seager and Castro added power to the speed formula in the 5th.  Seager started the inning off with his first homerun of the season and Castro ended the scoring with a three run blast sandwiched between stolen bases from Jennings and Andrus.  It was a rough inning for Grandal who was charged with two throwing errors on the attempts.

While the Roughriders came out on top tonight, one must wonder how many times will they run themselves out of rallies with the aggressive play.   But that is a story for another day, today all is right in Frisco and no one cares about the traffic jam going home.
