Minneapolis Millers Win Top Spot in Frontier League
Saturday, September 29th, 2035
Minneapolis Millers fans have reason to celebrate today, as their franchise is the class of the Frontier League.

With their record standing at 106-53, the club officially wrapped up the division title today, for the 8th time. Manager Dominic Sackett said everyone on their roster is looking forward to the postseason and trying to capture the club's 1st championship.

"That's what you dream about your whole life," Sackett said.

Right Fielder Jayson Philmon added that it's a great feeling to win the division, but said ultimately, a CBL Premier Cup Series victory is what will mark success for the club.
Division Remains Up for Grabs, but California in Postseason
Friday, September 28th, 2035
There's an excitement surrounding California baseball tonight, as the Dreamers have qualified for the playoffs.

"We're proud to be a part of a California Dreamers franchise heading to the postseason and trying to bring a championship back to the city," said first baseman Ron Faucette. "All our guys have battled all year to get us to this spot."

The division title remains in question, but the team's 88-70 record has led to a guaranteed postseason spot.
Philmon Bashes 3 HR for Minneapolis
Friday, September 28th, 2035
Jayson Philmon went on an explosive hitting spree against the Philadelphia Liberty at Roughnecks Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Minneapolis Millers to the 10-2 win.

The right fielder finished 4-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 7 RBI.

"It was just one of those days," Philmon said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."

Philadelphia skipper Ki-tae Kim said Philmon was "locked-in."

"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."

Jayson Philmon hit a two-run home run off Juan Jose Acosta in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jeff Lighthart in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Naonobu Matsumoto in the 9th.

Looking at his stats this year, Philmon has compiled a .342 batting average, while hitting 45 home runs and driving in 139 runs. He has played in 155 games and scored 122 runs.
