Apparently the injury worsened, so the PumpJacks sent the 28-year-old reliever back to the doctors for reexamination. Vera told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Vera will now miss a minimum of 5 months.
Raúl Vera is expected to undergo surgery in Unknown tomorrow.
To date he has nailed down 0 saves for his club. In no relief appearances, Vera has 44 strikeouts in 57.2 innings with a 5.77 ERA and a 2-5 mark. | | AMERICAN CONFERENCE STANDINGS | PACIFIC CONFERENCE STANDINGS | |
