| Scrappers Turn Away Knights, 3-1 | The Mahoning Valley Scrappers picked up a win at Canal Park, courtesy of Harry Boland. The left-hander helped his team stop the Charlotte Knights, 3-1. Boland, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Knights fall to 9-14 and continue their uneven start to the 2051 season.
Juan Martínez drove in one run for Mahoning Valley. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chris Calise. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
Martínez attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
