Seawolves Handed 5-3 Loss by Chicago | The Chicago Dogs racked up a win at New Northwest Stadium, bumping off the Erie Seawolves, 5-3. Sergio Negrón, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Tony Muñíz recorded the save, his 3rd. Erie, now 4-15, continues its tough start.
The Dogs took the lead in the bottom of the second when Juan Cortéz banged a two-out single. Chicago had been trailing 3-2, but Cortéz hit a first pitch changeup from Milo Smart for a 2-run single.
Despite the victory, Cortéz was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win." | | | | |
