Panthers Stumble, Lose to Colonials
The Connecticut Colonials downed the Portland Panthers, 8-3, at New Northwest Stadium. The Colonials were led by Manny García, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Colonials raised their record to 59-99.

Connecticut used the timely hitting of Walt Allen to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Colonials on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," García told the Connecticut Chronicle.
