| Host Canadians Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2 | In a pivotal Game 5, the Manchester Marauders were hoping for a big game from starter Noel Hafey. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Vancouver Canadians, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Marauders took the 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canadians to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
It could have been a different outcome for Manchester, had it not been for Walt Gains, the 24-year old first baseman . Gains contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Manchester up, 2-0.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Hafey.
Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Nat Bailey Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Remy Lebeau for Manchester and Tony Hernández for Vancouver.
