| Generals Mow Down Bats, 10-3 | The Washington Generals put one in the win column with an opening day 10-3 triumph over the Austin Bats. The crowd at Palmer Stadium watched Juan Gonzáles put on a fine performance. Washington starter Kire Rellim was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.
The Generals got a big at-bat from center fielder Dominic Sackett Jr.. For the game, Sackett Jr. went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Washington a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gonzáles. "And not try to do too much."
