| Samurai Knock Off Dogs, 7-4 | Chicago got a terrific game from right fielder Joey Donahue. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to China Grove, 7-4. Donahue was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Danny Farlow picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 5-6. With the win, China Grove pushed its record to 84-78.
The Samurai got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jerry Sklar. For the game, Sklar went 1 for 4 with a triple. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave China Grove a 3-2 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Sklar told the China Grove News.
