Scrappers Rebuff Generals, 3-1 | The Mahoning Valley Scrappers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jorge Gonzáles, who kept Washington hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Scrappers win at Canal Park. Don Trojanowski earned his 17th save in 25 chances. The Scrappers, at 69-88, sit in 6th place in the Heartland League.
Dave Rosas, the Mahoning Valley center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 1-0, Scrappers. For the game, Rosas went 1 for 3 with a walk.
