| Grizzlies Best Millers in Pitching Duel | The Vancouver Grizzlies did just enough to secure a victory over the Minneapolis Millers, 2-1, at Nat Bailey Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Johnny Fields. Cristián López, now 1-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. Vancouver now has a record of 76-69 with the win.
Octávio de Lara, the Vancouver center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 2-1, Grizzlies. For the game, de Lara was 1-2 with a walk.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," de Lara told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
