Dreamers Sneak By Surf Dawgs, 5-4 | California second baseman César Arencibía contributed to his team's 5-4 win over the San Diego Surf Dawgs. Arencibía, who finished 5th in the HL in doubles with 42 in 2041, went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Dreamers. Alfredo Yarbor earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-3. With the win, California pushed its record to 71-69.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when California left fielder Ben Gladys, facing Leon Kildow, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Dreamers the 5-4 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Gladys said. | | | | |
