Floundering Outlaws Lose 8th Straight | The Vancouver Grizzlies took Nashville pitcher Jeff Werstein's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Olympic Stadium. The final score had Vancouver getting past the Outlaws, 6-5. Werstein went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. Cristián López, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit. Von Harkenrider earned his 8th save in 12 chances.
The outcome might have been different for Vancouver, had it not been for Octávio de Lara, the 36-year old left fielder . de Lara stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Vancouver up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Vancouver manager Aneury Rodriguez.
