| Seawolves Top Dreamers in Extras, 3-2 | Dave Griffith was superb against California. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the FL in saves with 17 in 2046, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Seawolves victory. The score was 3-2. Erie reliever Edmund Dippel picked up the win to move to 5-6. Alfredo Yarbor suffered the loss. With the win over California, the Seawolves improved to 56-61.
Erie won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Alfredo Yarbor on the mound for California, third baseman Pat Vander Laan hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Seawolves fans to their feet.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Vander Laan.
