Surf Dawgs Lose to Seawolves, 4-2 | Erie Seawolves starter Edmund Dippel hurled his team past the San Diego Surf Dawgs, 4-2. Dippel, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Erie pushed its record to 48-38.
Erie used the timely hitting of Bubba Lambert to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seawolves on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Dippel told a Erie Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win. | | | | |
