| Scrappers Handed 3-1 Loss by Charlotte | The Charlotte Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Jeffrey Springs, who stymied the Mahoning Valley offense en route to a win, 3-1, at The Horse Shoe. In 7.2 innings, Springs surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Knights go to 26-46 with the win.
Kyler Murray dealt the Scrappers a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Charlotte leading 1-0, Murray, who led the FL in on-base percentage with .375 in 2046, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
Murray said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
