The winning pitcher was Sprow, now 8-3. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. With the win, the Liberty have a record of 35-36.
Philadelphia used the bat of José Cruz to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Liberty ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cruz. "And not try to do too much."
