Marauders Win Streak Now at 8 After 2-0 Victory | Bartlett Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Manchester picked up a win at Bartlett Park, toppling the China Grove Samurai, 2-0. Pitcher Garett Noack was one of the reasons the Marauders triumphed. The winning pitcher was Noack, now 7-4. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Beau Berkowitz notched his 18th save in 21 chances.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and China Grove trailing 2-0, Beau Berkowitz needed to get a big out. On a 2-2 fastball, Alan Micchelli struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
Manchester is now riding a 8-game win streak. | | | | |
