Third Baseman
The team decided to move on from fan favorite Miguel Sano, which was not a popular decision, but the team felt it was necessary to do, as Sano’s style of play, which is all power and no average, something that did not work at the pitcher’s park in Charlotte. So the team decided to get a hefty return of prospects in return for him. For awhile it seemed as though they didn’t have a solution for the vacancy that left. That was until the Rule 5 draft, when in the second round they picked Robert Byckowski from Traverse City. The 23-year-old is highly regarded defensively, but the team seems some upside offensively. Being young, and not fully developed, not much will be asked of him offensively, allowing him to continue to progress.
