2021 CBL Mock Draft

PJ BentonRound 1, Pick 18 (Syracuse Orange): CF P.J. Benton (San Francisco High School)

Benton projects as a solid center field, who will do enough at the plate. He’s never going to be the MVP, but a solid piece on a winning team, as he can play all three outfield positions, and his base running factors in as a huge plus. If he can do well enough at the plate, he could be a starter on a team in need, but would be best suited as the 4th outfielder.

Starling Marte is probably the best comparison if Benton can pan out defensively, as he will be best in left field, and if given a starting role, a .260 average is what you could expect.

Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 80 | Arm: 55 | Field: 60| Overall: 55

Nice write-up. You are right, that’s the kind of player I’d target. 🙂

If Wolfe went to Tucson like you predicted then I would have ended picking Bo Allen. I felt as though they are very similar pitchers but Wolfe has more potential upside…Anyways excellent article!
